If You Ignored your Teeth and they Went Away
How to care for your dentures--
Clean daily by brushing and soaking with a denture cleanser to eliminate odors and bacteria as well as food stains. Clean them OUTSIDE your mouth!!
Rinse after soaking and follow directions on the product container.
Have your dentist clean them professionally once per year.
Do not soak in bleach!! or Chlorox!! or peroxide!! or in boiling water!
Store in cold water if they will not be immediately placed back into your mouth.
Denture adhesives can be used successfully in small amounts- the size of a pea ( 3 peas should suffice). If you need more- it may be time to have them professionally relined.

Great Caribbean Cruise on the Celebrity Equinox
Last month we cruised the Caribbean on the Celebrity Equinox, a 2800 passenger ship. It was the most beautiful ship I have been on and I have been on many cruises. The food was good and plentiful (as you might expect) and there are 3 specialty restaurants which are truly amazing. The decor in the main dining room is unbelievably nice and the service by the staff, in the dining rooms and throughout the ship, was beyond expectations. We had 4 days at sea and stopped at 5 islands. The islands didn't matter as the ship was a vacation in itself. From a glass blowing presentation, to bocce ball on a the grassy upper deck, to beds and oversized cushioned chairs on the highest sun decks , to the gourmet coffee shop, this ship provided a classy, relaxed and totally enjoyable cruising experience.

Moving ahead for 2011
AS 2011 begins, lots of good things are happening at the office. We have fully integrated the use of our new Laser for minor periodontal surgical procedures which really improves the esthetic outcomes of our cosmetic dentistry. It even helps us do better general restorative dentistry. We also recently upgraded our root canal equipment. I don't do complicated root canals but our new equipment will help us do faster and more comfortable, straight forward, root canals when they are needed.
While the year has just started, I have already taken 2 continuing ed courses and several online courses. These include an update course on endodontics (root canal therapy) and cosmetic implant prosthetics ( to replace missing front teeth). In 2 weeks I will be taking a 2 day hands on course to get certified in doing Botox treatment ( for cosmetic improvements as well as treatment for migraines and TMJ issues). I will also be taking a hands on course for certification in dermal filler therapy. So stay tuned!! From Root canals to Wrinkles-- We are there for you!!.

Take your mind off Politics-Movies and Musicals
I am so sick of Democrats, Republicans , Tea Partiers , etc. It was great to enjoy a mindless but really fun broadway show- Rock of Ages- and a slow moving but very well done movie- the Hereafter.
Rock of Ages is a 1980's version of Hairspray- great music, energetic cast, inane plot with hysterical characters and a really talented young cast. The 80's were not my favorite musical era, but in spite of this , I recognized the Rock Music- even some of the heavy metal stuff. I know you will enjoy it if you go.
The Hereafter is a drama about the relationship between a woman who has a near death experience (drowning in a Tsunami) and a psychic (Matt Damon) who can communicate with the dead but does not want to use his unusual talent. The outcome is obvious- At some point- the psychic and the woman have to meet and fall in love. The problem is this does not occur until the movie is almost over.-- It took a long time to get to the obvious conclsuion. None the less, I really enjoyed it.
